The FWF's Erwin Schrödinger Programme offers young scientists the opportunity to conduct research at a foreign research institution and gain important experience for their further scientific career. However, the first postdoc application poses a major challenge for many young scientists. A good research idea and an excellent research proposal are the prerequisites for a successful application. But how to do this? How much time should you ideally allow for the application? What requirements must be met in order to be eligible to submit an application? These and further questions will be discussed by using the example of the Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship Programme.
