Key Action 1: Learning mobility of individuals

Learning mobility opportunities aim to encourage the mobility of students, staff, trainees, apprentices, volunteers, youth workers and young people.

The role of the organisations in this process is to organise these opportunities for individuals. The benefits for the participating organisations equally include an increased capacity to operate at an international level, improved management skills, access to more funding opportunities and projects, increased ability to prepare, manage, and follow-up projects, a more attractive portfolio of opportunities for students and staff at participating organisations, the opportunity to develop innovative projects with partners from around the world.

 

Higher education students and staff

Organisations can send or receive students, and staff to or from participating countries. Staff can teach or train abroad, whereas students and doctoral candidates can do a traineeship or part of their studies abroad.

Vocational education and training learners and staff

Organisations can send or receive apprentices and students for vocational traineeships abroad, as well as send staff for teaching or training.

School education staff

These opportunities allow organisations to send and receive staff for teaching and professional development.

Adult education staff
Opportunities are available for adult education organisations to send or receive staff for teaching and training, as well as to provide courses.

Young people and youth workers
Organisations can apply to run projects. For young people, these include youth exchanges, allowing groups of young people to live and work together for up to three weeks, and European Voluntary Service projects for up to 12 months. For youth workers, projects focus on training and networking.

Large-scale European Voluntary Service events
Opportunities support volunteering projects of at least 30 EVS volunteers for unpaid full-time work abroad for up to two months. Organisations are responsible for planning and managing activities, lodging, subsistence, and transport for participants, as well as supporting them throughout the activity.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees
Opportunities for organisations to organise Master degree programmes. The EU provides funding for these programmes to make three annual selections of students.

Erasmus+ Master Loans
Opportunities exist for eligible financial intermediaries to provide loans, under special conditions, to Master's students studying abroad.

Key Action 2: Innovation and good practices

Opportunities for cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices are designed to modernise and reinforce education, training, and youth systems.
Organisations participating in these opportunities should benefit from new approaches to education and training, a more professional and capable professional environment within their organisation, and an increased capacity to work at an EU or international level.

 

Strategic Partnerships

Aim to support innovative practices and joint initiatives to promote cooperation, peer learning, and exchanges of experiences.

Designed to support innovation in higher education and business, develop new approaches to teaching and learning, promote entrepreneurship, and promote knowledge sharing.

Sector Skills Alliances
Tackle skills gap and improve the adaptability of VET systems to sector-specific labour market needs and the demand for new skills.

Capacity building (higher education)
Supports the modernisation, accessibility, and internationalisation of higher education in Partner Countries.

Capacity building (youth)
Consists of initiatives designed to foster cooperation and exchanges, improve the quality and recognition of youth work and support new non-formal learning mobility schemes in Partner Countries.

Key Action 3: Support for policy reform

Key Action 3 aims to increase the participation of young people in democratic life, especially in discussions with policy makers, as well as developing knowledge in the fields of education, training, and youth.

Jean Monnet

Jean Monnet Activities consist of six Actions that aim to promote excellence in teaching and research on EU studies around the world.
The Actions are also designed to foster dialogue between academic and policy-makers on EU policies.
There is also a specific emphasis on EU integration and the role of the EU in a globalised world, as well as promoting active citizenship and dialogue between people and cultures..

 

Modules
Short teaching programmes, of at least 40 hours per academic year, on general, specific, or multiple disciplines in the field of EU studies.

Teaching posts with a specialisation in EU studies of at least 90 hours per academic year for university professors.

Centres of Excellence
These centres are focal points of expertise and knowledge on EU subjects.

Support to Associations
Designed to contribute to the study of the European integration process, bringing together professors, teachers and researchers specialising in EU studies.

Networks
Designed to create and develop consortia on EU studies. Activities can include gathering information, exchanging practices, building knowledge, and promoting EU integration.

Projects
Aim to support innovation, knowledge-sharing, and communication on European issues.

Sport

Designed to develop and implement joint activities to promote sport and physical activity, identify and implement innovative activities in the field of sport, and manage not-for-profit events to increase participation in sport.
