The FFG Kiras program promotes cooperative R&D projects and R&D services in security research with the aim of increasing the security of Austria and its population. The focus of the funding activities is on the protection of critical infrastructures. The sectors that are considered critical infrastructures and the strategic objectives are described in the KIRAS Special Guideline. In addition, within this general focus, specific research priorities are defined for each call for proposals by the departments responsible for security policy. Please note that a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is required for submission to the FFG programs KIRAS and FORTE.
If the application amount is less than €100,000, the MOU must be signed by the head of the organizational unit (dean/head of center). Please contact the third-party coordinator of your organisational unit at least two weeks before the submission deadline.
If the application amount exceeds €100,000, the MOU must be signed by the Rectorate. Please contact the colleagues in the National Funding Team at least two weeks before the submission deadline: foerderungen.national@univie.ac.at.
